 Alpha Pi Sigma is a Latina based sorority that was founded in 1990 at San Diego State University. Our mission is to unite and support women to advance academically and professionally. We pride ourselves in upholding the highest standards of academic excellence. We are distinguished leaders who integrate academia, leadership, community service, and sisterhood to empower our members as educated women. On March 23rd, 2012, thirteen strong women established one of Alpha Pi Sigma’s newest chapters are the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Through study hours and tutoring groups, these women reach for high academic standards as well as building strong networking skills. They volunteer many hours throughout the school year and beyond to helping the Latino community in events such as community cleaning, advocating for the youth and promoting education.
