UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

As a governing body we aim to promote cultural awareness, participate in philanthropy
and community service events, giving back to the local community and other communities,
and ultimately the advancement of our own communities through the graduation of
our members from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
SERVICE
CANS FOR A CAUSE
Each spring, the United Greek Council collects non-perishable items for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. The chapter that donates the most cans receives an award from the council of a $100.00 donation to their philanthropy of choice.
The Eastern Illinois Foodbank is the primary food source for food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and other programs working to feed the hungry. Each year, they distribute millions of pounds of food across our network of more than 200 such programs.

SWANN SPECIAL CARE CENTER VALENTINES
On Februrary, the Chapters of the United Greek Council joined to make Valentine Cards for the children and families of the Swann Center.
Swann is home to 120 individuals who live with significant medical, physical and mental challenges. Each resident is a very special person with very special needs. We ask the people in our community to pledge to make a difference in their lives.
Swann Special Care Center is a not-for-profit residential home and school for more than 100 children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities.
